Spanish Phrases: Names of sportsmen and sportswomen in Spanish

On this page, we look at words to describe a player or practicioner of a goven sport. As in English, it's generally possible to say:

un jugador de...	-	a (male) ... player
una jugadora de...	-	a (female) ... player

However, a few sports and activities have specific words to describe players and practicioners. As in English, they're used in particular to refer to a professional player.
